Public Services

Trash Pickup

Regular Trash Pickup occurs on Wednesday, and is handled by J.P. Mascaro & Sons. Trash should be placed at the curb no earlier than 8:00 pm Tuesday evening and no later than 7:00 am Wednesday morning. White Goods are picked up the first Wednesday of the month and can be scheduled by calling J.P. Mascaro & Sons at 610-272-2765. All other bulk items are picked up on Wednesdays - one bulk item per residence per week.

For missed trash email bposter@rockledgeborough.org

Recyclable Pickup

J.P. Mascaro & Sons is now also collecting all recyclables on Wednesdays. Recycling should be placed at the curb no earlier than 8:00 pm Tuesday evening and no later than 7:00 am Wednesday morning.  Our recycling collection is now single-stream, which means that materials are collected all together in one container, with no sorting required by residents. So cans and bottles can be recycled together with newspaper, cardboard, etc.

For all trash and recycling, please place on your curb after 8pm the day prior to collection, and remove your receptacle no later than midnight of the day of collection.

If your trash/recycling isn’t picked up please email bposter@rockledgeborough.org so that the trash company can be notified that they need to return.

Leaf Pickup

The Borough of Rockledge picks up leaf bags every Tuesday. Bags should be placed at the curb no earlier than 8:00 pm Monday evening and no later than 7:00 am Tuesday morning. Please be mindful that the bags weigh no more than 35 lbs. Bags should be placed at the curb no earlier than 8:00 pm Monday evening.

Acceptable Yard Waste: leaves, brush, grass, twigs, and branches. Branches must be bundled and tied not exceeding 3" in diameter and 4' in length. No more than 6 bundles of branches per residence per week will be picked up. The Borough does not offer services for full tree pickup. You must contact a private contractor.

Leaf Vacuum

Streets are vacuumed during the week towards the end of the Fall season. The vacuum is used to collect leaves that have fallen from trees along the curb lines. Piles are not to be placed in the street as there ae no set days that vacuuming takes place. Piles of leaves that are left for pickup are not only taking up valuable parking spots, but wind up blowing around the street on windy days.

Snow Plowing

During the winter season, the Streets Department plows streets throughout the Borough. If a snow emergency has been declared, please utilize all driveways so that our plows can clear the streets to the fullest extent possible. Give the crews some time to make a few passes before fully clearing your property to avoid having your driveway plowed in.

Christmas Tree Pickup

In January and February, the Streets Department will pick up Christmas trees on Tuesdays. Trees should be placed at the curb for pickup.

Television Disposal

The PA Covered Device Recycling Act requires that consumers not dispose of covered devices such as computers, laptops, monitors and televisions with their trash as trash haulers will no longer be able to take covered devices. All residents must now responsibly recycle electronic equipment as they can no longer be thrown in landfills. Visit www.Retrievr.com for information on television disposal.
